Story Salon
is a creative writing, illustration, and publishing studio for young people based in the Rivertowns in Dobbs Ferry, New York. We believe kids have stories worth telling – and we give them the skills and platform to share their work with their community.
Students become storytellers by making orginal comics and zines! Young writers and artists learn to craft narratives, develop characters, and combine illustration with writing to create their own publications. This hands-on workshop builds creative confidence while strengthening both visual and written storytelling skills. Learn more here.
School Visits
Young journalists run a real newsroom! Students pitch stories, conduct interviews, and see their work published in the Little Dispatch, the kids-only section of the Rivertowns Dispatch. From editorial meetings to bylines, this after-school program gives kids authentic journalism experience while building confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills. Learn more here.
