is a publishing studio for young people based in the Rivertowns in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
Storytelling with
Words + Pictures
Young artists and writers embrace the comics and zines format all while sharpening expository writing, creative fiction, and illustration skills.
Young reporters and editors engage in all aspects of newspaper production, from pitching ideas to interviewing, reporting, editing and planning for publication.
Newspaper Club
At Story Salon, we support children in a collaborative and joyful environment as they gain confidence and skills in storytelling.
Young reporters, artists and writers gather after school in small group settings to workshop and craft fictional and reported stories for publication. Through a collaborative partnership with the Rivertowns Dispatch, the local, independent newspaper of the Rivertowns, selected work is published in a special, bi-annual kids’ section of the paper.
Story Salon is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, equitable community. We are actively seeking partnerships with organizations supporting under-resourced students and their families.
