The Back to School Issue
Extra, extra!
The Back to School issue of the Rivertowns Dispatch is on newsstands and in libraries — and it's a big one. This is the very first issue to expand coverage into Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, meaning our young reporters are now part of an even bigger community newspaper!
Inside this issue of The Little Dispatch, you'll find:
Sammy W.-P., age 8, reports on a New Dinosaur Discovery: The Amazing Doolysaurus, digging into a brand-new dinosaur species found this year in South Korea.
Jimena B., age 8, shares How to Be a Great Big Sister, a heartfelt guide for kids welcoming a new sibling.
Our Fall Reading Picks section returns too, with Quinn C., age 10, and Beckett C., age 11, reviewing their favorite spies, soccer stars, and fairy tales for readers ages 7-13.
Today is the last day to pick up a copy at your local library or newsstand!
Class is in session!
We're back in the classroom this week after our summer break, and there's something fitting about starting the year with an expanded Rivertowns Dispatch in our hands. A local newspaper tells a community what it's paying attention to, and who's worth listening to in it. This year, that circle just got bigger, and so did our reporters' sense of what they're part of!
Back in the Classroom: Newspaper Club educator, Emily, kicks off a brainstorming session with our young reporters
